- Well, first of all, don't use all caps. Normally, you will be ignored. Second, it takes time and dedication. What the author mentioned about spending years on it, is true. Next, there is no such thing as a perfect hacker. There are people who are bad to the ones who are great. But nobody is perfect. Spend time researching, Use these sites, and once you know enough to not look like a noob, go to a forum and ask occasional questions while reading the previous post. No one is going to walk you step by step, just like no one will with anything else.

- Well basically, the best way to do that would to bet the victims ip through skype (see tutorial on youtube, it's easy). Then you would need to use something like kali linux (takes time to learn) and use something like metasploit to exploit the user by making a fake .exe or something like that. By the sound of it, what you want is magic, it's not that easy, and is also illegal. If you are serious about it, then start by installing kali linux and learning metasploit (look up metasploit a penetration testers guide and read it). Otherwise if you want the easy but risky route, download the old version of darkcomet if you can find it. It's a R.A.T (remote administrative tool) and allows you to completely control the victims computer, but it is easily picked up by anti virus.

hi. ok, so the websites don't necessarily make you a 'hacker', you don't instantly become a hacker just by playing on the sites, I know, but they still serve a purpose in their existence, they help us understand 'hacking' a bit more, they help motivate some people to do some reading and find out actual information for themselves. we don't become hackers overnight, but these sites help us build ourselves up, and certain webpages contain useful information ;) no noob stuff

2. Download pdf of type of hacking you want to learn(pentesting, forensics, etc.)
3.Read
4.Apply what you read by practicing
Hacking is simply using a technology for unintended purposes. I'm currently working on a bachelors degree in IT with undergrad in programming. That doesnt make me a hacker. Knowing different programming languages doesnt make me a hacker. Using aircrack-ng to access a neighbors wifi makes me a hacker. Using commands to ping the shit out of a website to shut it down makes me a hacker. Forget the websites. Read a college level book.
Victor is right; this is about hacking, not cracking. But I concur in that the 'format c: /q' command (without quotes, obviously) is the ultimate cracking tool.
I don't think it's possible to become an uber-cracker without it.

I just found this page and reviewed some of the comments... First thing I want to say, is I am not sure if I am a hacker or not, I just like to learn about coding, networking, whatever catches my fancy at that moment; I started working in the IT field at age 16, after getting caught by the admins of high school for using some canned tools... they made me clean my mess, and offered me a job after graduation part time while I attended college... I saw some comments about script kiddies earlier, and I think at some point we all started out that way... but eventually we wanted to know more, and grew past that phase...at least I did...I think those sites mentioned are awesome because they are doing exactly what the Internet was meant for, the sharing of ideas and information... and I say kudos to everyone that is apart of making those sites run..

To Viralnexxus: True, some hacking tools are indeed filled with malware, but the best tools out there (Netcat, NMap, IDAFree) can be downloaded directly from the creators' websites with no problems. And, if you're really worried, run them in Sandboxie (www.sandboxie.com) to protect yourself and your machine. If anything goes amiss, dump the sandbox. Problem solved.
Also, be careful on milw0rm. Keep NoScript on, particularly when viewing code for browser vulnerabilities.
To Mat: If you want to learn to crack programs, you need to learn Assembly. Look online for the Art of Assembly; it's a free manual on how to use IDAFree and code in Assembly language.
People who want to be true hackers--who want to take what's there and hack it to make it even better or more secure--will learn a great deal from these sites. Script kiddies will only end up hurting themselves in the long run, as they learn nothing.

There once was a kid named matt. Graduated from High school with a free ride scholarship to MIT because of his brilliant computer skills. During his first month at MIT, he hacked into his private high school and had his entire tuition reimbersed to his mother. Busted and expelled from MIT within 6 weeks, he moved to Arizona to live with Grandma. He got a job offer before he was even out of the airport working for American Express for 100k a year monitoring a program he wrote for them in High School. Amex later sold the rights to the program and Matt went with it for over a million dollars. Today Matt sits in the Federal Pen for drug smuggling.
I personally use and favor astalavista.com and have been going there for years. While the site looks scaled back recently, when building networks, I still call them to find out what the best protection is for the application. Who is better to ask advice from to protect the bank vault....the rent a cop that has worked at every bank in town or the mastermind who breaks into every new safe as it hits the market.?

If you disagree, that's fine, but if hackers ever take down this site, you have lost the moral and ethical 'high ground' to complain about it. And if the domain ever gets stolen, AGAIN... - Hacker is a misrepresented term demonized by the media. You may not know it, but hackers are also the guys who test systems for you bank, insurance company, and come in for disaster response when a major hack does occur to fix the problem and hopefully track down the bad guys. To catch a thief you must be able to think like one, we both use the same tools. it is a matter of how you use them. There are numerous programmers, system and network admins who plant viruses on their companies systems when they get laid off, does that mean that this site shouldnt provide resources for any of those 3 hobbies/careers? White hat hacker/Ethical Hacker/Penetration tester is a good guy who is employed by the government, IT security firm, or company to test and secure systems, black hat hackers also known as crackers (short for Criminal Hackers) are the ones that steal credit card info and ruin lives. The losers who deface websites are known as script kiddies, they download someone elses software with no knowledge of how it works and then destroy the hard work of others. They are the lowest of the low. I dislike black hats, but i respect them. They are very talented people, with amazing understanding of systems, programming languages, and many other tech related things who are able to hack the most secure of US military contractors. I give credit where credit is due.

Uh, dude, no offense but this all shows how to become a script kiddie. Look up the hacker manifesto. It's not about breaking stuff and stealing. It's about the process of taking apart existing code, finding a problem, and then writing a vulnerability. There are tools out there that are designed to be used by security professionals to speed up the process of finding an exploit, but you need zero skill to use them. I have used hackthissite before, and I can tell you that once you have passed the hard missions, you are by no means a professional hacker. Yeah, its good for learning the basics, but being a professional hacker takes a LOT more knowledge.
If you really want to get good at hacking (for a white hat purpose) then listen to security talks, learn several programming languages, set up a test lab at your house to practice on, etc. It takes an immense amount of time and learning to get there. If you show up on one of the forums in the article and beg to be taught how to hack, you will be laughed at.
When learning all of this stuff, keep in mind that there are a large number of organizations looking for you. For instance, if you decide to try something you learned on, say, your high school or work network, you will be caught very very quickly. For every hacking tool, there is a tool designed to catch it being used.
- I agree, these sites and variants like them might help those who are determined to really want to learn, but for every 1 there are 100 more who think that by downloading retina or some other hacking tool they are hackers. Pfft....
- You have a point, yes these sites are not going to make you a professional hacker, however for the cost for some of them ahem, FREE, you can't really complain. (as always you get what you pay for) For all those interested in becoming a pro hacker, and not some crap script kiddy I suggest you invest some $$ in courses. CISSP and CEH are a few noteworthy certifications, each is going to run you about $1,500 - $6,000, but it also lands you a nice chair in a job that pays right around $100,000+ a year. And if you continue learning you get the title of Elite, so what's to lose unless you do it for the wrong reasons.

- I agree to a certain extent. You certainly will not become a pro hacker. These websites can be a great stepping stone to help you get into hacking. You're introduced to things like JS exploits, SSI's, and other things that will help you down the road. It takes a certain drive though and you really have to love it/immerse yourself in it to become even halfway decent. If you are going into it just to deface websites or DDOS some site because Bawwww you dont agree with them, youll always be a script kiddie using other peoples tools and gain nothing but a knock at the door from the FBI. At the same time, you cant expect most people to jump right into C, Assembly, Registers, and memory management and be able to keep up by themselves. Especially if you are going to work on reverse engineering a program with out a copy of the source code, you will need to understand those more difficult topics. I guess the whole point of this rant is that everyone starts somewhere, that doesn't really matter where you start as long as you keep challenging yourself and learning every single day. It is more important where you end up and how you continue to apply that knowledge.
